The familiar workflow stays. Underneath it, a new calculation engine, updated methodological content and digitally connected outputs. openLCA at the core*Engine* A stronger, more transparent and scalable calculation engine, and the technical basis for digital integration and future system connections. GCCA GNR 2023 data*Sector data* The latest industry dataset, collected to the CO₂ and Energy Accounting and Reporting Standard for the Cement Industry. Latest cement PCR*North America* Incorporates the current North American Product Category Rules for Portland, blended, masonry, mortar and plastic cements. Australian configuration*Regional* Alongside the standard setup, Version 6 includes a dedicated Australian configuration using Australian background data, so plants in Australia can calculate EPDs on local data in the same tool. Pre-verified tool*Verification* Version 6 is listed as a pre-verified LCA tool by the International EPD® System, so EPDs calculated with it follow the simplified verification route and the verifier checks your data rather than the model. ILCD+EPD and API*Digital outputs* Results leave the tool as structured, machine-readable data, so EPDs can feed procurement, ratings and building LCA systems directly. #### Improved modelling **Material properties**More detailed material properties and updated background data. **Electricity by voltage**Low, medium and high voltage electricity modelled separately. **Mixing trucks**Electricity inputs for mixing trucks are now captured. **Construction electricity**Regionalised electricity data for construction-stage activities. **Recarbonation**Refined calculation logic for concrete recarbonation in use. **Architecture**Updated for system connections and digital workflows. #### For existing users ## Your login has not changed. 01**Log in as usual** at tool.gccaepd.org with your current username and password. 02**Parallel running.** The previous version and Version 6 run side by side for six months, so work in progress can be finished where it started. You can still log in to Version 5.2 at [**concrete-epd-tool.org**](https://concrete-epd-tool.org). 03**Expect some result changes.** Updated data, PCRs and modelling detail mean results for the same inputs may differ from Version 5.2. 04**Read the documentation.** Updated user guide, LCA model report, database and verification reports are in the documentation library. ISO 14025:2026*Published* The second edition sets explicit requirements for EPD tools and their independent verification, and tightens impartiality rules. The tool you calculate with matters. Revised EU CPR*In force* Regulation (EU) 2024/3110 provides for environmental performance and digital construction product information, with detail following in delegated acts. Digital product data*Developing* Procurement, ratings and building LCA increasingly need structured data.
