GCCA EPD Tool Version 5.2 Now Live

What’s New in Version 5.2?

The new version introduces several updates that improve both the technical performance of the tool and the user experience. Highlights include:

• Compliance with EPD International PCR v2.0.1: The tool now aligns with the latest version of the Product Category Rules, ensuring consistency and reliability across EPDs.

• Simplified Verification Report: A streamlined verification report has been introduced to support verifiers. This is available for download on the landing page after logging in.

• Updated Data Quality Assessment: : The background data quality assessment has been revised to reflect current best practices and enhance the credibility of LCA results.
• New User Guidance: Additional guidance has been included in the User Guide to support:
  • Performing individual EPD data quality assessments
  • Calculating the primary data share in EPDs
• Enhanced User Interface Help Sections: Improvements to in-tool help sections offer clearer instructions.

• Revised LCA Model report: Updated values for default materials in the LCA model report ensure more accurate and representative calculations. A new Section 1.7 has been added.

• Improved Module Accounting: The tool now includes indirect fuel supply impacts in A3, improved packaging and plastic waste accounting in A5, and a new transport process in C2.
