What is new in Version 5.2

The new version includes several updates that improve both the technical performance of the tool and the user experience.

Standards and verification

  • Aligned with PCR 2019:14 Construction products, version 2.0.1: the tool now follows the latest version of the International EPD System Product Category Rules for construction products, supporting consistent and reliable EPDs.
  • Simplified verification report: a new, streamlined report helps verifiers review EPDs. It can be downloaded from the landing page after logging in.

Data and modelling

  • Updated data quality assessment: the background data quality assessment has been revised to reflect current good practice and strengthen confidence in the results.
  • Revised LCA model report: default material values have been updated for more accurate and representative calculations, and a new Section 1.7 has been added.
  • Improved module accounting: the tool now includes indirect fuel supply impacts in A3, better accounting for packaging and plastic waste in A5, and a new transport process in C2.

Guidance and usability

  • New guidance in the user guide on:
    • carrying out data quality assessments for individual EPDs
    • calculating the share of primary data in an EPD
  • Clearer in-tool help: the help sections in the interface now give clearer instructions.
